                                          LESSON POLICY

Welcome to the Warwick School of Music. We are confident that our roster of professional teachers will help you acquire new levels of proficiency and artistry in your chosen area of study. Please read carefully the student requirements listed in this policy. Our  musical instrument and voice instruction consists of private, one-on-one, half hour lessons (one hour lessons are available for advanced students). Lessons are once a week on a set schedule. Enrollment in the Warwick School of Music is on a monthly tuition basis.. Monthly tuition reserves the instructors time and assures you a specified time slot. Tuition will not necessarily correspond to the number of lessons taken. Instructors’ times are valuable, and therefore a student absence will be a forfeiture of the missed lesson. There are no make-up lessons for student absences. We understand that emergencies will arise and those situations can be brought to our attention for consideration. We will attempt to make up teacher cancellations if possible. If a make up is not possible due to a teacher cancellation the Warwick School of Music will issue a credit for the missed time. All schedule changes must be made at the beginning of each month to reserve that time. Students are responsible for their own instructional material. Copies of relevant material will be provided by the instructor at no cost.

Missed Lessons

A teacher absence will first result in the teacher attempting to schedule a makeup lesson. If the teacher’s schedule does not permit a make-up, the teacher will try and arrange a substitute teacher to provide the lesson on your normally scheduled lesson day and time. When a makeup lesson cannot be arranged, The Warwick School of Music will credit your account in the following month’s tuition. School closings due to snow days or other acts of nature will try to be made up or otherwise credited. Make up lessons will not be scheduled if the tuition is not current. We understand that emergencies will arise and those situations can be brought to our attention for consideration.

Tuition & Payments

In order for the school to function properly and meet its financial obligations,  payments must be made on a timely basis. Tuition is due the first  lesson of each month. If payment is not received by the 15th day of each month a $15.00 late fee will be assessed. We will send an email reminder by the second week of each month. If the problem persists the student will be marked inactive until the payment issue is resolved. In this case reclaiming your original time slot may not be possible.

$67.50 Per Month for 2 Monthly Lessons

$135.00 per month for weekly half hour lessons.

$260.00 per month for weekly one hour lessons.

$195.00 per month for weekly 45 minute lessons if scheduling permits.

Classes, workshops, clinics will be determined per session.

To discontinue lessons, please notify the school by phone or by email .The email address is warwickmusicschool @ gmail.com. Please indicate all identifying information: student’s name, teacher’s name, day of the week and time slot, and the anticipated date of your last lesson. No credits are given for lessons stopped before the end of the month.

Summer policy for July and August

Due to the often busy summer months the Warwick School of Music will prorate lessons during July and August per lesson as an option to students. Example: if a student decides to receive 2 lessons in July the tuition will be $67.50 for the month. Hopefully this will allow the student to maintain continuity in instruction.

It is the responsibility of the instructor not only to teach the theory and the understanding of a particular instrument, but also to instill motivation and bring out the creativity in each individual student. Learning to play a musical instrument can be very rewarding. A firm commitment to attendance and practice will assure the student a learning experience that is leading to your fullest potential. We are hopeful that you will earn a spot performing in a recital held in our Performance Room!

This policy is effective September 1, 2015 and replaces any and all previous lesson policies. By registering as student of the Warwick School of Music you are agreeing to the terms of this policy.

Thank you for considering The Warwick School of Music as a source for music education in the community.
